Heal Yourself ?!?!

You Are the Placebo!!

The latest book that I have been reading entitled, “You Are the Placebo” by Joe Dispenza is amazing!

I bet that you have never thought that you have the power to control if you get sick or how quickly you recover from an accident or injury? This book gives insight and scientific reasoning for just that!

Dispenza talks a little about epigenetics and about how we have stem cells within us that are basically generic cells that can be directed to be formed into whichever cells we need at the time. We can change our genetics. Our fate is not made by the genes we were given at birth. They can be genetically changed if we direct them to. And how do we do that? By destressing and thinking positively!

Many of us know that constant stress to our bodies is not good but did you know that it can actually make you sick. When we are stressed our cells are busy preparing for a fight or flight. They are not doing their real job to nourish and protect the cell, making it easier to get sick. Also, when we are constantly worrying or thinking negatively certain hormones are produced. Our brains begin to think of those hormones as “normal” and when they are not produced we find a way to produce them by thinking more negatively or finding something to worry about. We are building neural pathways for worry and dis ease.

We are made of atoms which are mostly energy. Negative thoughts and feelings generate lower frequencies or lower energy which causes matter to be more dense allowing for dysfunction and disease to develop. Positive thoughts generate higher frequencies or higher energy which makes matter less dense and less susceptible to disease. Simply by changing our thoughts from negative to positive we can change our health. Actually... changing those thoughts is not simple at all. Depending on how old you are, you have been building your neural pathways and producing the hormones that your body now craves for years and years. It is not easy to rewrite those pathways it takes daily work.

Meditation is a great way to get in the present moment and work on flipping the switch to changing your mindset. By turning your focus within you you are directing your energy to you and not the outside world. That new source of energy is what you need to heal your mind and body. I believe that everyone should learn to focus on the present moment and to switch their thoughts to joy and gratitude. It may just change your life.

In his book Joe writes of many testimonials about individuals who have done just that. From curing themselves of Hashimoto's disease to MS to Parkinson’s symptoms by changing their neural pathways and thought processes. I feel like many people take a diagnosis given by a doctor and BELIEVE there is nothing that can be done. In a sense they give up and give in to the disease. They BELIEVE they will not get better so they don’t. As I have said to many of you… I have seen this over and over in my patients and clients over the years. If you believe that things won’t change and you won’t get better you are setting yourself up for failure by thinking negatively and building up your slower frequency neural pathways which cause dis ease. The result is that you truly won’t get better. On the other hand, thinking positively and believing for the best will set you up for success.

If this interests you, like it does me, I highly recommend reading this book and learning to meditate and change those negative thought processes. We can do it together 😉
