What are meditation and mindfulness?

Over the course of time Id like to offer several different MIndfulness and Meditation techniques that I have learned to help all of you to complete the process of renewing your body. I will intruduce authours and teachers who have many helpful ideas to lead us into a place where we don’t let our monkey minds control us. When we truly can get into a state of mindful living. We can truly find ourselves and we can learn to let go of everything that is holding us back from true health and happiness. I’m excited for you to join me on this journey.
Mindfulness
According to Wikapedia the definition of mindfulness is; The basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing. How many times have you been working on a task only to have your mind interrupt you with racing thoughts; what was I thinking, why did I say that, I should have said this, I should have done that. This racing mind is what happens to all of us all the time. Mindfulness is realizing that that racing mind does not have to control us or occupy our time. When we allow ourselves to become fully present and be in the here and now, we can quiet that racing mind and enjoy life so much more.

Meditation
There are many techniques that can help us to calm this racing mind. One of the best ways is mediation. Meditation is defined by wikapedia as; A practice where an individual uses a technique such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. When we are caught up in our mind sometimes we need to retrain or brain to be still. When we are able to do this there are so many health benefits including stress reduction, pain decreasing, clarity of the mind and best of all a joy filled life.
